Located in the historic district of Tbilisi, this residence represents a space where the past and the present are transformed into a unified architectural language. The main idea of the project was not to alter the existing structure, but to continue and preserve its history. The space unfolds as a continuous narrative, where each architectural layer retains its own trace of time. Here, historical heritage does not become decoration — it becomes a living part of contemporary life. During the restoration process, special attention was given to preserving authentic details. Existing elements were restored with maximum precision, while new interventions were carefully and naturally integrated into the interior. Particular emphasis was placed on the restoration of the original fireplaces, the renewal of which required research, precision, and great care — these fireplaces are not merely decorative elements, but fragments of the building’s historical memory. One of the key values of the residence is its restored wooden flooring. Each room features different geometric patterns and combinations of wood species, giving the interior a distinct artistic character. Their restoration was one of the most demanding stages of the project — the multilayered structure and material complexity required a high level of restoration precision. The interior combines historical textures with a contemporary architectural language. Industrial elegance is expressed through metal structures, minimalist lines, and clear geometry. The open-plan layout and visual transparency create an airy and continuous spatial experience. The interior includes both carefully selected furniture and objects and wall art specially designed for this space by the designer, adding additional artistic value to the interior. These elements represent a collaborative project currently in development. Griboedov Residence is a dialogue between times — a place where historical heritage and contemporary vision merge into one cohesive and living environment.
